My friend Nat made this for lunch one day when the girls and I were visiting and I was surprised at how easy it really is! Now we make it all the time instead of boxed mac'n cheese.
Ingredients:
cooked noodles (we use all shapes)
butter
flour
milk
grated cheese
salt and pepper
optional:
garlic powder (if you want it to taste like Granny Davis')
or
mustard powder (if you want it to taste like Pioneer Womans)
Directions:
cook and strain noodles
make a rough with butter and flour
add milk and wisk until thickened
add cheese and wisk until smooth
add salt and pepper to taste
add either garlic or mustard if desired
glad i found this. your family has a very similar taste/meals as we did growing up. i'm loving all the recipes blogs. it's making my meal planning much easier.
ReplyDeleteYum! I just made this today and it was yummy. I think I made my flour mixture a little thick so next time I am going to thin that down. Thanks for posting. My mom use to make this all the time for us!
